Toddlers need about 2 hours of physical activity every day
- Toddlers in child care and at home need to have time for physical activity –something to make their hearts pump and muscles work.
- Toddlers will play alone, then play beside each other, and finally play together.
- Toddlers need about 2 hours of physical activity every day!
You may think that because your child is always moving that they don’t need time set aside for physical activity. But they do! Having screens around decreases their time with active play. Without active play, toddlers do not learn and grow as they should. Toddlers also need to see the adults in their lives moving and interacting as well. So, put down your phone and get outside and PLAY!
